No, there is not. Most of our students range from ages 3-12. We also have babies, ages 2 and under, who join just to listen in. We believe that any exposure to English is useful, especially exposure from those who are native English speakers.
Given that there is no age limit, we ask that you mute your microphone, turn your camera on, and raise your hand before speaking during lessons. Students who do not turn their camera on will be removed from class. This is to secure the safety of our students and team.
Our lessons can be attended on a drop-in basis. Students participate when it is convenient for them. Please refrain from registering in classes that you will not attend. If you register on accident or decide that you will not make it, please email us to let us know so that our team can prepare the lesson accordingly.
Please keep in mind that if the registration is too low, we may cancel the lesson for the day.
No worries, just notify us through email. As our classes are online, we have students participating from moving cars, restaurants, and more. Feel free to join us even if you are not at your usual desk as long as you let the instructor know!
Our founder, Kiko, is a student in the state of California (USA). Around the world, there is the perception that California is a wealthy area famous for its progressive, high-tech companies. However, Kiko grew up in an area where some of her friends did not have a safe home, access to after-school programs, and other educational opportunities. Because of this experience, she has always had the belief that all education should be accessible to everyone, including additional or supplemental classes like the ones that HL offers. Once establishing an experience in tutoring and teaching young children, she founded Hello Languages, a non-profit organization, with the goal of making fun classes 100% free. You can take HL classes anywhere in the world, whether you are on the move in the car or at home in your living room. Our operating costs are covered by donations. And all of our amazing teachers are all gracious volunteers.
We have gotten requests for private lessons in English. Though this is something we may consider in the future, however at the moment, we will continue providing classes for free in groups.
There are no specific age limits at HL and we provide lessons to a wide range of levels. Instructors will plan lessons based on the recent trends of students. Looking at the level of the students that given month, we will plan the next month accordingly to keep our more advanced students challenged, but also tailor to younger, newer English learners. Younger learners may need assistance from a parent when participating in lessons.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission. Any amount is appreciated.
